Parent Support Advisor

Hello our role is to liaise between parents and the school and to be a point of contact and support for parents and children if they have any concerns, issues, worries or feedback they wish to raise or discuss.

We can be contacted either via the main school office, and on Sandra 07436 189258, Colette 07436 204989 or via email

We have links with specialist organisations and support services.  All enquiries will be dealt with in strict confidence – please feel free to contact us, via the school office.  We are also involved in organising parent/carer coffee mornings for parents/carers and can also assist with the annual reviews supporting parents through the different stages of their child/young person’s time at school.

What is a FLO / PSA?

FLO stands for Family Liaison Officer.  PSA stands for Parent Support Advisor In a school setting FLO and PSA’s provide support to the parents and carers of the children from that school.

How do we do it?

FLO and PSA’s are always looking for ways in which to build good relationships with parents and carers. This may include coffee mornings, parent support groups, newsletters or by simply being on the school premises when parent/carers are dropping off children/young people.

It is always essential that the FLO/PSA’s keep flexibility within the role. This will ensure that a response can be made in times of crisis for the children and families in our school.

Why have a FLO/ PSA?

To support parents regarding a range of issues that are impacting on their ability to parent effectively.

To empower parents to take an active role in their child’s social, emotional and educational development.

Provide a range of activities for parents that encourage them to be safe, healthy, enjoy and achieve economic well-being.

FLO/PSA’s offer early intervention that can make a real difference to the lives of parents and therefore of children and young people whatever the background.
